The TBC Corporation, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida was a publicly traded corporation from 1983 to its purchase by the Sumitomo Corporation in 2005. During the corporation's short independent existence, it acquired a number of businesses related to automobile parts and tires. After its acquisition of National Tire and Battery in 2003, TBC chief executive Larry Day claimed it would be the largest independent tire dealer in the USA.

Brands controlled by the corporation include:

  • TBC Private Brands which produces and distributes tires for sale in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
  • Carroll Tire Company, a tire warehouse operation purchased in 1998.
  • Midas, automotive service chain, acquired in 2012.
  • Big O Tires, North America's largest franchise operation for automobile tires. It had sales of $142.1million in 1995 and was purchased by TBC in 1996. Part of the TBC Retail Group.
  • Tire Kingdom Purchased in 2000.
    • Tire Kingdom International Part of the TBC Retail Group.
  • Merchant's Tire and Auto Part of the TBC Retail Group.
  • National Tire and Battery, acquired in 2003 from Sears, Roebuck & Company at which time it was making about $60million annual profit. Part of the TBC Retail Group.
  • Treadways Part of the TBC Retail Group.
  • R.O. Writer, a customizable shop management software system currently used by more than 5,000 independently owned automotive repair, oil change and tire shops. Bolt On Technology's automotive software solutions integrate fully with R.O. Writer's shop management system.
  • SpeeDee Oil Change & Tune-Up.
