Amenities

NatureWalk community amenities include The Gathering Place, a family style clubhouse with beach-entry pool, an adult lap pool, and a children's playground. The community consists of two-storey homes with 2 to 4 bedrooms.

At the community entrance is an 800-foot bridge, which is the largest vehicular timber bridge in the United States. This type of bridge does not require wetlands to be filled and preserves the surrounding ecosystem better than alternative bridge options while still being able maintain the weight of highway traffic.

History

NatureWalk at Seagrove was previously owned by The St. Joe Company, which is the largest private landowner in Florida, holding 577,000 acres in Northwest Florida previously owned NatureWalk. When the real estate market began to contract in 2006, The St. Joe Company decided to quit its current real estate endeavors in Florida, one of which was NatureWalk. Between 2006 and 2010, The St. Joe Company lost $15 million in restructuring charges, and $167.8 million combined in impairment charges [2]. Following the St. Joe Company loss, Kolter, a private investment agency based in Palm Beach County, Florida, bought the land, and developed NatureWalk.

Olson and Associates of NW Florida Inc purchased the land, but were never issued a development order for the club because they did not have all their permits. More than 500 homes were supposed to be built. Construction was only started on 6 homes and only 10 lots had been sold when the property was put up for sale. Kolter bought the property and began building NatureWalk.

NatureWalk at Seagrove was opened in March, 2012.
